The article describes three occupation waves on east Paraguayan territories during 1960-
2018, the relationship with the reconfiguration of social and political Paraguayan frontiers,
and its presence on Paraguay-Brazil bilateral relations. From a Paraguayan bibliography,
the article tries to stablish an interpretation of the last 60 years in the transformation of
the east Paraguayan region because of the strong presence of Brazilian migration — people
and capital.
