Brazil and Paraguay started a “strategic partnership” with positive effects in several sectors; This article aims to examine the evolution of this partnership, presenting an overview of
Brazilian-Paraguayan relations between 2011 and 2018, with the objective of analyzing its inflections and continuities. We work with the hypothesis that there was a change in the partnership bias, with an increase in economic-commercial and securitization themes. This was due to factors such as the change in the profile of political leadership, going through the political crisis in both countries. The method used was process tracing, based on selected sources
