Antagonismo, Equivalência, Logocentrismo: uma análise do discurso sobre as “novas guerras”

Resumo

Mediante a teoria do discurso de Ernesto Laclau e com base nas contribuições de Kalevi Holsti e Mary Kaldor, o artigo analisa o debate sobre as causas das novas guerras. A hipótese é que esse discurso foi construído de forma logocêntrica: ao enfatizar a análise das estruturas estatais para a compreensão das guerras de terceiro tipo, Holsti reforça uma narrativa eurocêntrica sobre a formação dos Estados; já Kaldor, partindo da ideia da política identitária como uma das causas das novas guerras, naturaliza uma visão depreciativa sobre a identidade daqueles considerados responsáveis por tais conflitos.

Aureo de Toledo Gomes, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia

Possui graduação em Relações Internacionais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2004), mestrado em Ciência Política pela Universidade de São Paulo (2008) e doutorado em Ciência Política pela Universidade de São Paulo (2012). Atualmente é professor adjunto nível 1 da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. Tem experiência na área de Relações Internacionais, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Análise do Discurso aplicada à Relações Internacionais, Teoria de Relações Internacionais (sobretudo abordagens pós-estruturalistas e pós-colonialistas) e Segurança Internacional (sobretudo temas relativos às operações de peacebuilding e state-building)
