The location and trends of the History of International Relations (HIR) area at the Brazilian
Association of International Relations (ABRI) are investigated through a disciplinary memory
which identifies its instances of institutionalization through documentation and orality
analysis and mapping of researchers and historiographical trends of articles presented
between 2007 and 2022. It was thought that the investigation would demonstrate a superficial
interaction between History and IR; however, HIR had a relatively constant presence at
events; its managers acted in favor of dialogue; its researchers are qualified; and it was
possible to identify an interest in the Contemporary History of Brazilian and American
Foreign Policy.
