The identity of the field of International Relations in Brazil
an analysis of the scientific production in its main journals in the 2010s

The article analyzes the academic production published between the years 2010 and 2019
in the main Brazilian scientific journals focused on the field of International Relations, cut
based on their Qualis/Capes rating. It was employed the method of quantitative content
analysis to 720 articles, published in the following journals: Revista Brasileira de Política
Internacional (Qualis A1), Contexto Internacional (Qualis A2) and Carta Internacional
(Qualis B1). The results reveal the plurality of research themes and authors’ networks,
besides reinforcing the methodological shortcomings that the field presents.
