How does the COVID-19 pandemic impact the global food supply chain? The catastrophe may bring to light the dangers of isolationism, protectionism and unilateralism for the stability of the International System. The possibility arises for governments to implement export barriers to prevent possible domestic shortages. From a conjuncture analysis based on research and data preliminary, the article shows that the concentration of agri-food production, coupled with the idea of food security based on international trade, contributes to the high vulnerability of dependent developing countries on food imports.
